The beginning

This module is on green design. To make us think about the different angles on debate around the world we live and what we think of society as a political stance.

Our first task was to research an area of what is 'Eco'. The topic I chose was the electric car and how we could change our views on what is a massive achievement since 1828 to now.

All the years that the progress of the electric car the more interest the more that the government hold back or demise.

• In 1900 the electric cars in America of the 4192 people who had cars, 28% were powered by electricity.
• In 1908 and 1912 Henry ford introduce the mass production in petrol cars and Charles Kettering invents the electric start motor in cars which is a fast demise to the electric car as a whole.
• 1972 victor Wouk, the godfather of the hybrid builds the first full powered full size hybrid vehicle out of a 1972 skylark provided by General Motors. In 1976 the Environmental Protection Association kills the program of victor Wouk. 
• 1974 the Citicar was invented going at 30 mph.
• 1997 Toyota unveils the first mass production hybrid car (Prius) 18000 sold in the first year alone. The scheme was then crushed by the government a few years later.
• 2007 General Motors goes bankrupt
• 2008 tesla motors bring out $98,950 a electric sports car.
• 2009 Nissan electric car LEAF (leading environmentally friendly, affordable family car) maximum spread of 90mph at a 100 miles per charge. 80% of the battery charge can be charged in 30 mins! 
• 2012 the Nemisis come out being the fastest electric car ever.

Looking also at different varieties in car fuel cells and motors in general I looked at the water car by Stanley Meyer. (1940-1998) and also looked at bio fuel and how we can make our fuel a lot cheaper.

Looking at the water car online is scary to think how realistic it looks. I can guarantee that it works however the political battle is that the government make way too much money on oil and cannot live without this. Meyers claim about his water fuel cell and the car that its power were found to be fraudulent by an Ohio court in 1996 two year later he was murdered-poisoned.

In my opinion 'Eco' cars now i.e. the LEAF is a great concept. By 2013 we should have 10,000 more sockets for the car in n around he UK. The only assumption that the LEAF has is that the car is plugged into a natural source of electric for example solar. Nissan are part of Sun-power - a company that runs solar panels. (So I guess you could get solar panels at the same time in buying the car?)

On the first lecture we watched a documentary: the age of stupid 2011. The main topics:
